On April 20, 2015 an historic event took place in Champagne: Handmade Vintage Sparkling wines gathered together to present to an international audience their vision of excellence. The owners of Raventos i Blanc, Ca’ del Bosco, Gusbourne and Domaine de la Taille aux Loups were invited by Champagne Henri Giraud to explain all the work that goes on behind the scenes to create Handmade Vintage Sparkling wines.

Springing from this meeting of minds came the idea for the film “The Path of Humility”, which is due for release on October 23, to coincide with International #ChampagneDay. Its principal participants like to describe it as: “A trip through England, Spain and Italy, but also around France, which will transport the viewer directly into the confidential environment of those who, today, possess a vision of excellence in the world of great terroir sparkling wines.” A film full of sincerity which speaks of their visions and their backgrounds, each one a personal story with its particular difficulties, doubts and moments of joy…but always with one common objective: the quest for Excellence.

Champagne should be the locomotive of sparkling wines around the world,” said Maurizio Zanella (Ca’ del Bosco – Italy).”But right now this locomotive does not always go at the speed we would like it to.”

Claude Giraud – Champagne Henri Giraud – declared “Touring Europe to share privileged moments and enjoy rich exchanges with men of passion like Maurizio Zanella, Andrew Weeber, Pepe and Manuel Raventos and Jacky Blot was a real pleasure. Excellence is to be found everywhere in the world of Handmade Vintage Sparkling wines born from terroir, and this film will demonstrate it to everyone.”
