A new life begins for the first Chablis in the history of the Hospices de Beaune

Offered by the Jean-Marc Brocard Estate at the beginning of the year, the Premier Cru La Côte de Léchet is the first Chablis vineyard to join the prestigious charitable estate of the Hospices de Beaune. This is currently made up of 60, carefully-chosen hectares in Côte de Beaune, Côte de Nuits, Mâconnais.

The new, organically farmed parcel is on a beautifully exposed Kimmeridgian slope and was bathed in glorious sunshine as that the harvest took place. For the first time in their history the grapes were sent to the Hospices de Beaune; small grapes, rich in sugar, highly concentrated and with a thin skin promising to produce a 2015 vintage of the highest quality. Ludivine Griveau, manager of the Hospices de Beaune Estate, spoke enthusiastically of this first harvest (video in French).

The Hospices de Beaune wine auction will be held on November 15 and should mark a new stage in the recognition of Chablis wines as being among the finest wines of the world.
