Count Henry d’Assay, owner of Château de Tracy in Pouilly Fumé, makes some comments on the harvest 2009. The estate is located on a beautiful and vast south-west oriented park on the hillsides which overlook the Loire. It counts 31 hectares of vines planted on flint and limestone soils which give musky and elegant notes to this Pouilly Fumé. For the last fifteen years, the estate carried out reasoned cultivation so as to have a wine-growing system which respects the environnement. The varied soils on the property (flint and chalk) bring out all the nobility and strength of this exceptional grape variety, Sauvignon Blanc, and produce a delicious long-ageing wine.
