Together with Champagne Charles Heidsieck Blanc des Millénaires 1995 and Champagne Lanson Extra Age, Champagne de Venoge achieved a new great result with the Cordon Bleu Extra-Brut. This Champagne Extra Brut (a very low dosage for this champagne in fact) is getting more and more attention internationally as wine experts appreciate the full, intense and fresh aromas of this new cuvee from de venoge. Solely made up of professionals, the jury of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles brings together the best international wine experts every year. Their 40 nationalities guarantee the diversity and the unique character of the event.

In fact, wine critics regularly celebrate Champagne de Venoge as they did again this week with a gold medal at Decanter World Wine Awards for Brut Cordon Bleu and a Silver medal for the newly released vintage 1996 of Cuvee Louis XV. Bruce Sanderson, Essi Avellan MW, Tom Stevenson, Michael Edwards, Maggie Mc Nie MW, Simon Field MW, Antony Moss MW, Margaret Rand…recently gave high scores for their experience of the unique taste of Champagne de Venoge. Recently, Champagne Blanc de Blancs 2000 came N°2 in Decanter’s selection: “Sour honey, gunflint, lemongrass, brioche, nut and butter bouquet. Big, flavoursome wine with an absolutely gorgeous toastiness behind fabulously fresh, peachy fruit. Lovely, soft, cushiony mousse”. From 90 points for Brut Cordon Bleu to 97 points for Brut Vintage 1988, Champagne de Venoge also got top scores in the US magazine Wine Spectator. And last December, FINE Champagne announced the 14th position of Champagne de Venoge in its Top 100 Best Champagne as well as the 3rd position for Vintage Champagne. “Over the last 10 years, the focus on making exceptional quality champagnes can explain the top performance of Champagne de Venoge in blind tastings.” CEO Gilles Morisson de la Bassetière said.
