Published on December 31, the new scores from Jeb Dunnuck (Rhône Valley: The 2013 and 2014 Northern Rhônes / eRobertParker.com) that also include some 2012 wines are highlighting two Rhone Valley’s stars: Maison M.Chapoutier (Tain l’Hermitage) and Domaine Stéphane Ogier (Ampuis). With the only wine rated 100 points in this new list – Ermitage « L’Ermite » 2014 white – Michel Chapoutier is at the top of the palmares. The Ermitage « Le Pavillon » (98+) and the Ermitage « Le Méal » (97) – two wines from Maison M.Chapoutier – as well as the white Hermitage from Jean Louis Chave (97 points) are the 2013’s top 3 wines. The 2012 vintage is led by the Cote-Rotie « Belle Hélène » of Stéphane Ogier with 98 points (“A wine that could flirt with perfection at maturity” according to Jeb Dunnuck).

Jeb Dunnuck about Maison M. Chapoutier: “Looking at the 2014 whites from Michel Chapoutier, these are gorgeous wines that show the suppler, more elegant style of the vintage. With respect to the reds, 2013 is a serious vintage at this estate, and at the top end, they’ve produced the wines of the vintage.”
Jeb Dunnuck about Stéphane Ogier: “I had a great tasting with Stephane Ogier and his lineup of Cote Roties and northern Rhône Syrahs continues to grow in number, all without sacrificing anything in terms of quality.
