100 Best Champagnes for 2011: FINE Champagne Magazine Selected the World’s Best Champagne
Essi Avellan, Master of Wine, conducted an extensive review of champagnes in her beautiful magazine, FINE Champagne. Rare, the top Cuvee from Piper Heidsieck was unanimously voted as the best in view of all its qualities, and was the number one wine of both the final and semi-final blind tastings. An extraordinary task (organizing a blind tasting with so many champagnes must be a hell of work!) which also revealed the great qualities of champagnes from the champagne house de Venoge. Based in Epernay, Champagne de Venoge always performs very well in international tastings and usually gets high scores for its old vintages. In this prestigious list, Champagne de Venoge got the 14th position among the Top 100 as well as the 3rd position for Vintage Champagne and Number 7 for Rose Champagne.
