Essi Avellan, Fine Champagne editor, and Peter Liem from Champagne Guide recently tasted the 1996 Cuvee Louis XV from Champagne de Venoge which will be released in a few months. Then they were proposed a vertical tasting of Grand Vin des Princes, a 100% Chardonnay Champagne. Prestigious vintages were selected from 1993 to 1975. 2000, 2005 & 2009…Three famous vintages in Bordeaux and particularly at Chateau Gruaud Larose, a second growth wine from Saint Julien. David Launay, director, tasted them recently and makes comments on their potential. If it is too early to describe 2009 as it is still in the ageing process in the cellars of this château, David Launay makes a comparison between these three vintages. He is also explaining in simple words why sometimes this wine is more Gruaud and sometimes it expresses more the Larose touch.
