A world first in the wine business! In Burgundy, the Chablis producer Jean-Marc Brocard has just announced the launch of a wine that will be available only on the Internet, for members of its Club. An initiative that first of all meets an increasing demand for exclusivity from lovers of fine wines, and also gives Jean-Marc Brocard the opportunity to present his view of what fine Chablis wines will be like in 20 years.

Julien Brocard (who has headed the Jean-Marc Brocard estate since 2007) says: “This VV 1946 is a great organic Chablis produced from a magnificent parcel of old vines (vielles vignes in French, hence VV) planted in 1946. It’s unique: you won’t find it anywhere else in the world. In addition to its exceptional terroir, this wine has also had the benefit of our highly specialised skills. At Jean-Marc Brocard, we undertake many projects and high tech experiments to make wines in ways that will preserve our natural ecosystem. Produced in limited quantities, this Chablis VV 1946 has had the full benefit of all this research, which is why we wanted to reserve it exclusively for members of the Jean-Marc Brocard Club.”

Produced from a single parcel of Chablis old vines planted in1946, and aged for 14 months in a cocotte (a small ovoid tank), this marvellous Chablis VV 1946 is now available in the 2014 vintage. Like all the wines produced on the estate, it benefits from the ecological engagement of Jean-Marc Brocard, an independent family business that has been committed to the protection of the environment since 1997.
